Maryam Masjid is pleased to offer a program designed to teach American Muslim children and adults with a basic knowledge of Arabic reading and how to recite the words of Allah. In the process, the program aims to inspire Islamic belief and mannerisms in the hearts of students through the literary form of stories. The program is individualized based on the student’s skill level where each student receives instructions one-on-one and begins with the pronunciation of the letters and moves gradually throughout the Quran until he/she completes the entire Quran with the proper Tajweed rules. We encourage you to enroll your family and children in this important effort to secure their future and the future of this Ummah.

About the Teacher: Hafiz Abdul Jabbar Tahir studied Masters of Science (Mathematics) from Punjab University, Lahore, Pakistan. He finished his Quranic Tafseer studies from the International Islamic University in Islamabad and Alim Course (3 years) from the Burooj Institute in Karachi, Pakistan. He has served as a full time science teacher in the Valley Crescent School, Clovis, CA where he received several awards and commendations including the Best Tutor of the Year and the Best Teacher award. He has also served as a full time Quran and mathematics teacher at the Al-Ilm Educational Institute, Cypress, CA. He was the imam at the Dar Al-Uloom Al-Islamiya of America, San Bernardino and at the Islamic Center of North Valley, Lancaster, CA. Hafiz Tahir also has a certification in teaching challenging gifted students through differentiation from the California State University Fresno.
